キャリア
大手国家資格予備校を経て、監査法人、私立大学経済研究所特別研究員を兼務した後に本学に赴任。
現在は「NHK関東甲信越地方放送番組審議会委員」や、茨城県日立市の「中小企業脱炭素経営促進コンソーシアム協議会副座長」「行政経営改革推進会議委員」など複数の有識者会議の委員を務める。その他、浦和ロータリークラブ理事・役員、浦和間税会理事を務め、奉仕活動にも従事している。
これまで、専門学校・大学・大学院をはじめ、上場企業の実務研修や公認会計士・税理士の継続研修、JICA（国際協力機構）と連携した海外政府機関向け講義など、多様な教育・研修プログラムを企画・担当。これまでの指導実績は延べ1万人以上にのぼり、教育対象は学生から経営者・専門職・行政関係者まで多岐にわたる。
「教養 × 科学」を教育コンセプトとし、社会学のシステム論をベースに、哲学・経済学・経営学・会計学を統合した学際的教育コンテンツを展開。
特に、思考構造の可視化と再構築を通じて、知識を“使える知”へと変換する教育設計を重視している。
近年は、生成AI・温暖化問題・社会制度の再構築といった現代的課題に取り組み、行政や地域社会と連携しながら、実践的な知の社会実装を進めている。さらに、複雑系科学・カオス理論・行動遺伝学など、先端分野の知見を教育理論に取り入れ、学問の統合を通じた「人間と社会の知的進化モデル」の再構築を試みている。

Career
After working at a major national qualification preparatory school and serving concurrently at an audit firm and a private university’s economic research institute, Professor Kurihara joined Ibaraki Christian University.
He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Consortium for Promoting Decarbonized Management in SMEs and as a Member of the Council for Administrative Management Reform, among other expert committees primarily in Ibaraki Prefecture. In addition, he is a Director and Officer of the Urawa Rotary Club and Director of the Urawa Indirect Tax Association, actively engaging in community service and civic initiatives.
Professor Kurihara has planned and delivered a wide range of educational and training programs — from specialized schools, universities, and graduate programs to executive training at listed companies, continuing education for certified public accountants and tax accountants, and lectures for overseas government agencies in collaboration with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). His cumulative teaching record exceeds 10,000 participants, spanning students, business leaders, professionals, and government officials.
Guided by the concept of “Liberal Arts × Science,” Professor Kurihara integrates philosophy, economics, management, and accounting within a systems-theoretical framework of sociology, creating interdisciplinary educational content.
He emphasizes the visualization and reconstruction of thought structures, aiming to transform knowledge into practical, applicable intelligence.
In recent years, his research and teaching have focused on contemporary issues such as generative AI, climate change, and the reconstruction of social institutions, collaborating with government bodies and local communities to promote the social implementation of practical knowledge.
Incorporating insights from complex systems science, chaos theory, and behavioral genetics, he is currently engaged in developing an integrated educational framework toward a new model of human and social intellectual evolution.

AIと社会
統計モデルに基づくAIの原理的限界を明らかにし、人間の脳外ワーキングメモリとして生成AIを活用することで、認知能力の拡張可能性を探究するものである。また、生成AIが資本主義的価値観に与える影響や、人間の道具的価値の喪失によって生じる人間価値の哲学的再定義についても検討している。
カーボンニュートラルと企業経営
カーボンニュートラルを企業経営の持続可能性を左右する構造的要因として捉え、中小企業がそれを脅威でなく機会として転化する経営戦略を探究する。SBTやスコープなどの国際基準を踏まえ、脱炭素化を事業ドメイン再定義の文脈で分析し、行政・金融機関との連携を通じた現実的な支援モデルを検討している。
好奇心のマネジメント
好奇心を「予測誤差に対する快楽的評価と再現志向」に基づく認知的動機づけシステムとして捉え、その発生・制御・再現のメカニズムを体系的に分析することを目的としている。特に、学習過程や意思決定における好奇心の機能を「防衛本能」と「探求行動」との対比により構造化し、知的成長と創造性を促進する好奇心マネジメントモデルの構築を目指している。
Current Research Themes
AI and Society
This research aims to elucidate the theoretical limitations of AI based on statistical models and to explore the potential for cognitive augmentation by using generative AI as an external working memory for the human brain. It also examines the impact of generative AI on capitalist value systems and investigates the philosophical redefinition of human value that arises from the erosion of humanity’s instrumental value in an AI-driven society.
Carbon Neutrality and Corporate Management
This study conceptualizes carbon neutrality as a structural determinant of corporate sustainability, focusing on strategies that enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to transform this global challenge into an opportunity. By incorporating international frameworks such as SBT (Science Based Targets) and GHG Protocol Scopes, it analyzes decarbonization within the context of redefining business domains. The research also develops practical support models through collaboration with local governments and financial institutions.
Curiosity Management
This research positions curiosity as a cognitive motivational system grounded in the hedonic evaluation of prediction errors and the tendency toward their reproduction. It systematically analyzes the mechanisms underlying the emergence, regulation, and recurrence of curiosity. By contrasting the roles of curiosity with defensive instincts and exploratory behavior in learning and decision-making processes, the study aims to construct a Curiosity Management Model that fosters intellectual growth and creativity.
